Overview
Alaska Yacht Adventures provides the fishing and cruising experience of a lifetime aboard Southeast Alaska’s "Sea Mist", a 73' Knight & Carver offshore yacht fisherman. A USDA Forest Service permit holder, they can explore any area of Southeast Alaska that you would care to visit from Ketchikan in the south to Skagway in the north, west to Sitka or east to Juneau. Adventure vacations for sport fishing, fly-fishing, private yacht cruises and charters, adventure travel, lodges for wildlife photography of bears and whales are among the custom trips available.
Explore Southeast Alaska with Captain Dennis, a long time Alaska resident and his wife Mary Kay. Operating as Grand Slam Charters they have been fishing out of Southeast Alaska since 1988. With the acquisition of a larger vessel and changing their format to where “you decide” the company’s named changed to Alaska Yacht Adventures and now offers full service private, custom live aboard cruises throughout Southeast Alaska. All of the charters are private and custom designed around your group’s particular interests. Be it sport fishing, fly-fishing, whale watching, photography, cruising or just relaxing. It is your charter and your adventure vacation... and Alaska Yacht Adventures tries to make it perfect.
Alaska’s Cruise Ship Alternative
Cruise Alaska’s Inside Passage aboard the “Sea Mist” and visit areas seen only with binoculars from the large cruise ships. Explore small coves and bays the large ships can’t get into. Anchor in a secluded bay and not in front of a t-shirt shop. Cruise during the daylight hours so you will not miss anything. View wildlife and glaciers up close and personal not at 100 feet up and at 25 mph. Cruise, fish and explore Alaska as you were meant to, in the privacy of your own charter yacht.
Fishing
On your next adventure vacation, fish King and Silver Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod and other bottom fish offshore near Sitka, or in the calm protected waters in the Juneau area of Alaska’s Inside Passage in comfort and luxury. Fly-fish the pristine, crystal clear streams for Steelhead, Salmon, Cutthroat, and Dolly Varden. All-inclusive, private charters are available (your group only) for up to six persons - all you have to do is show up and be ready for the experience of a lifetime. Alaska Yacht Adventures will even vacuum seal, freeze and box your fish for your trip home.
Dining
Dining on the "Sea Mist" is an experience in itself, with meals carefully selected around your special tastes. Fresh seafood features the “catch of the day”, crab, shrimp, or your favorite catch, right out of the pan. There's nothing better than a great dinner with family and friends at the end of a wonderful day fishing or hunting. You will also get to set your own crab and shrimp traps to add to your Alaska experience.
Payments Accepted
Reservation Policy
A 25% deposit is required within two weeks of making your reservation. The balance is due 60 days before your departure date.
Rates are all inclusive except for fishing license. Alaska Yacht Adventures reserves the right to change rates at any time.
Cancellation Policy
Due to Alaska’s short and limited season, refunds can only be made if Alaska Yacht Adventures is able to rebook your dates.
